What to Expect

Massage

My aim is to help and support you to feel better emotionally and physically. Prior to the treatment, we will have time to discuss any reasons you may have for seeking the massage treatment. You will be free to share any medical conditions that you feel I should be made aware of so we can plan and adapt your massage to suit you and your specific needs and so I can support you throughout the treatment and beyond the session.

My priority is that you get the most from your session so it’s important that I know of any areas of tension, any recent injuries or surgery, and your preference for pressure, whether that be deep, firm pressure or light and gentle. This is your treatment and I want it to be perfect for you.

The massage can be a 30-minute treatment for the back neck and scalp, a 60-minute full-body treatment, or a 90-minute treatment. In addition to your treatment you will receive a complimentary 15-minute consultation prior your massage.

For the initial treatment, I really recommend booking a 90-minute treatment so we have plenty of time to do a thorough consultation and we have time to do a full body treatment and extra time for concentrating on specific areas of concern.

The massage will be performed on a massage couch in a comfortable warm relaxing room. Fresh linens and towels will be supplied along with cushions and bolsters’ for your comfort. Your modesty will be respected and protected throughout the treatment. Low lighting and gentle music help to create a relaxing space for you to unwind.

I use only Vegan Friendly oils or wax for the treatment. I like to burn incense and use an essential oil diffuser however, this is an option so please let me know if you’d prefer me not to.

I begin the massage with some breath work and table Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a Japanese massage modality that was invented by Tokujiro Namikoshi during the 1920s. It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is considered a form of acupressure massage. Shiatsu is unique from other forms of acupressure; in that, it exclusively utilises finger, palm, and thumb massage techniques to treat patients’ pain and health conditions by applying rhythmic pressure along the body’s acupressure points.

I perform the Shiatsu treatment prior to all massage treatments as I find it really helps to relax the client, calms and slows the breath and helps me to connect with my client’s energy. I also work very intuitively so I am guided to work in areas I feel my client is needing extra attention and support.

This is your treatment so please make me aware of areas you would like me to concentrate on or avoid.

I begin the oil massage with the client laying in the prone position. I work using a rhythmical flow from the neck and shoulders, upper and lower back, and then down to hips, legs and feet. Then with the client in the supine position I work from the lower legs, thighs, arms, face, and scalp. I like to complete the treatment with a face and scalp massage. During the 90-minute treatment, we do have extra time for an abdomen massage if desired and time to concentrate on specific areas discussed during the consultation.

I utilise a range of modalities and techniques, such as Shiatsu, Trigger point therapy, Deep tissue, Myofascial release and the power of the ‘listening touch’. I work with the deepest respect for all in a confidential and safe space.

I recommend you avoid a heavy meal and alcohol prior to the treatment.

To get the most from your treatment and to support your body’s detoxification post treatment, I would recommend clearing your diary and give yourself time to rest.  Avoid alcohol, caffeine, sugary foods and be sure to drink plenty of water.

Reiki

Your session will begin with a relaxed conversation, an explanation of the treatment and what to expect, and the opportunity for you to share your reasons for being drawn to a Reiki treatment, your intentions and any emotional or physical issues that are causing you pain or distress.

The Reiki treatment is performed on a massage couch in a comfortable warm relaxing room but can also be performed with you sitting on a chair if you prefer. You will be asked to remove your shoes and any jewellery. You will remain fully clothed and a blanket will be provided for your comfort.

I like to burn incense and use an essential oil diffuser, if you would prefer that I don’t during your treatment then of course that is also fine. Low lighting and gentle music help to create a relaxing space for you to unwind. Reiki can be received as a hands-on or a hands-off treatment, you may decide which you feel most comfortable with.

The session will last for 1 hour with an additional complimentary 15 min consultation. I recommend that you wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing and avoid a heavy meal and alcohol prior to the treatment. To get the most from your Reiki session, I would recommend avoiding alcohol, caffeine, high sugar and fatty foods for 24 hours post treatment and drink plenty of fresh water.

Reiki is a very personal experience for each individual client. My own experience of receiving a Reiki treatment for the first time was a feeling of true peace, and lightness, I felt held and safe. I remember having the best night’s sleep that night and the desire to learn more about Reiki and become a practitioner myself. I have continued to have regular Reiki sessions that I feel help me to connect with myself on a deeper level.

Reiki is a very pleasant treatment to receive. You just lay back and relax under a blanket and close your eyes. What you experience is very personal to you, but it is quite normal to experience changes in temperature flowing through your body, vibrations, or tingling sensations. It is completely normal to feel certain emotions coming up to the surface, you may feel the need to laugh or to cry and this is a safe place for you to just go with it and give yourself permission to just do what feels right for you. You may fall into a restful sleep or go deeper into a meditational or dream-like state

Crystal Therapy

We will begin the session with an explanation of the treatment, how it will flow, your expectations, reasons for wanting to receive Crystal healing and your intention for the treatment.
The treatment will be preformed with you lying down on a massage couch. You will remain fully clothed, a blanket and pillows will be provided for additional comfort. Soft lighting and music will create a relaxing atmosphere.
During the treatment I will be placing a selection of Crystals on and around your body.
I will be focusing on the main 7 energy centres, also know as Chakras.
A Chakra is the point where energy lines (Meridians) meet and cross each other.
When the energy lines are out of alignment or the Chakra is blocked we can feel unwell, lost, disconnected, experience stress, anxiety or physical discomfort.
During the session I will be applying healing to each individual Chakra, determine which of the Chakras are out of alignment and need extra attention.
When the Chakras are harmonised and brought back into alignment, we experience several health benefits, we feel calmer, more centered, balanced and ultimately happier.

After the session, I will be able to provide you with some feedback, recommend some crystals that would be useful for you to use at home and give you some aftercare advice to support your ongoing healing process.
